This website is for the Student Health Centre at York St. John University. Here you can book an appointment and request a prescription. There is also lots of useful health information to cover all your medical needs!

Registering with the Health Centre
If you have not already done so, please register at the QUAD EAST for all of your medical needs and advice. The services we provide are tailored specifically to students.
We have registration packs available to pick up from our surgery.
But you can save time by registering online. Please click here to complete the form.
Please do not wait until you become unwell before you register with us - we need time to get your details from your existing GP practice. You cannot book an appointment with us if you are not registered.
For our New and Returning Students
Things will be a bit different this year at the surgery.
You will not be able to enter the surgery without a pre-booked appointment which will only be on a Tuesday and a Thursday.
If you have any queries please contact the surgery on 01904 439101 and the reception team will assist.
If you need to order a prescription you can do so via the online services.
For Our New Students' Parents
Here is some useful information for parents of students who are registered, or wanting to register with the Student Medical Centre.
We work closely with the University to ensure the seamless care of our students. Our clinicians have a number of years experience dealing with the student population, and work closely with the university if required in certain situations.
Please be aware that appointments booked on this site are solely for students who are registered at YSJ, thank you.
The Friends and Family Test
Putting Patients First
The Friends & FamilyTest (FFT) is a feedback tool which offers patients the opportunity to provide feedback about the care and treatment they have received. This is not a traditional survey; this will be a continuous loop between our patients and staff.
The FFT questions asks if patients would recommend the services we provide and how we could improve them. This provides a mechanism to highlight both good and poor patient experience. The data is completely anonymous and is not compulsory, but is available to all patients.

You will require three Heb B vaccinations for your course. Please keep these dates free and try to arrange activities in the afternoon.

For routine calls, it is often a good idea to try to avoid the busiest times – early mornings and late evening – especially Mondays. In an emergency, ring the surgery and tell the receptionist the problem. It may be appropriate to take the patient straight to the nearest A&E department at York Hospital.

The Health Centre has disabled access. Should you require further information, please telephone reception.
Interpreting Services & Hearing Loops
Interpreting services can be made available in certain circumstances for patients needing translation or those who are hard of hearing or deaf. We would need prior warning to see if it is possible to arrange this service. Please ask at reception for more information.
For deaf people and those hard of hearing, a text phone service is available on 0845-606 4647.
Portable hearing loops are now available for those who require one from reception. They can be taken into the doctor’s room during your consultation.
